Sarah Michelle Gellar plays buffy the main character. She is the slayer. Buffy Anne Summers was born in 1981 to the now divorced Hank and Joyce Summers. Buffy started attending Hemery High school, in Los Angeles, in the fall of 1995. In 1996 she learned from a watcher named Merrick that she was the chosen one, the slayer of vampires during her initial foray into slayer hood, Merrick was killed and she burned down the school gynmasium. Her parents who had been having martial difficulties for some time finalised their divorce that same year. Her mother gained custody of buffy in the divorce and the pair moved to a house at 1630 Revello Drive in Sunnydale, California, and Buffy enrolled as a sophomore at Sunnydale High School. Reluctantly at first she took up her duties as the Slayer, with Rupert Giles as her new Watcher. Buffy has been vampire slaying ever since. She has killed a number of vampires including the Master, Luke. Also a number of demons, witches, werewolves and one pure demon. Also she has killed ADAM.
